Authentic Coaching Inn, with a real character. Lovely rooms, friendly staff. Good evening meal and a fantastic breakfast. Even complimented with a very friendly cat, PC ! Well recommended stop if you are visiting Stourhead
We went for dinner in the bar at 6pm what a cozy place great food. Sorry fantastic food . Great service and friendly staff. Will definitely be back when we are back here .
These guys are just the best! They fitted us in at the last moment on our journey through along the A303. Beyond excellent quality of food and menu choice. Everything was utterly delicious and perfect. It’s suitably priced for the quality of ingredients and its cookery. Really special place. I just wished we lived nearer to this gorgeous inn.
Proper old-fashioned country pub, with a lovely beer garden, great food and helpful staff. We had cider battered fish and chips, and ham, egg and chips. The fish batter was very light and tasted great. The ham, egg and chips was massive and I’m still full. Our room was quite small, but well furnished and quiet. Not sure why some reviews mentioned poor service - maybe they were just unlucky. I’ve found it really good.
Tucked away off the main road is this lovely little pub with a good list of beers,and judging by the crowded restaurant on a Monday evening, is very popular. The garden is large enough for a quiet moment or a sunny summer soireé. Good Dogs are always welcome, and the staff are always lovely and never bite. :-)
Beautiful decor and very cosy. We stopped for a cheeky pint, pork pie and bowl of chips after a long walk and it was lovely.
Incredible meal had by all, all of our plates were empty at the end. It was generally a very memorable experience. The staff were so welcoming and accommodating. We came across this pub while travelling an they managed to find us a suitable table to accommodate our 18month old too. They allowed us to wait in their beautiful pub garden with drinks until our food was ready at the table. The garden was filled with beautiful flowers, umbrellas and chickens and ducks at the top of the garden which amused our kids. The menu was the perfect size with delicious specials that made it hard to choose what to est as there was so much choice. We all loved our meals and wish we could come back. One thing that we really appreciated was the kitchen being so accommodating with offering our young kids alternative dessert of custard and fruit that was off the menu. This was much appreciated. Highly recommend this pub if you want a welcoming, comfortable, delicious meal.
It was our first visit today and the roast diner blew us away, it was the nicest roast diner I’ve ever had in a pub and one of the tastiest meals I’ve ever had in general. The portions are great, you don’t have to pay extra for cauliflower cheese which lots of pubs now do as a “side”, lots of veg, the roast potatoes were on point and the beef beautifully cooked. Service was great and attentive . The pub itself is gorgeous and has such a cosy vibe, it’s now our new go to for food especially a Sunday roast.
